Tulip fields of the northern Netherlands

Here a heady 60 million tulips can be seen blooming.

When I first saw these images I thought they were painintings or painted photos of fields. But they're neatly sectioned fields of tulips in the northern Netherlands. Wonderful!

According to the Daily Mail in the UK, in the Netherlands there more than 10,000 hectares devoted to the cultivation of tulips, the Dutch landscape in May is a kaleidoscope of bright colours as the many flowers burst bloom. More than three billion tulips are grown each year and two-thirds of the vibrant blooms are exported.
