Suzy Hoodless' Contemporary Lodge in Scotland

This house made me gasp a little. Extraordinary.

The open space, Mid Century Modern/ modern furniture and faceted end tables/ footstools make this a perfect yet surprisingly welcoming space.

Even the scenery is spectacular. And the grassy, mossy roof reminds me of fairy books, hobbit houses and island homes. Rather like childhood reveries.

I'm really more drawn to designing my own spaces then having an interior designer do so, but Suzy Hoodless' Contemporary Lodge in Scotland is brilliant and really in quite another category. What impeccable taste!

Natural, modern, earthy, open and airy. Mixes 1900's with 50's with '60's with present day effortlessly. This mixing of eras and genres is so effortless and casual it's relaxing. An elegant country home for holidays away from the city.

Suzy Hoodless is a British taste maker who set up a design consultancy in 2000 after 5 years as Interiors Editor at Wallpaper* magazine, from it's inception. Specialising in interiors, Suzy Hoodless works for international clients across the globe on both residential and commercial projects. Projects also include a beach house in Barbados, the London townhouse of a supermodel and The Hospital, a private members club in Covent Garden.

nice! I can't stand most contemporary architecture, but I actually quite like this.
The glass elements remind me a little of the Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver.
